Welcome to Maison M

The Maison M favicon - a white capital M on a black background

Maison M is a boutique Bed and Breakfast (Chambres d’hôtes) in the charming Bastide town of Sainte Foy La Grande, which sits in the luscious Dordogne valley.

Originally built for the town’s Mayor, Maison M is a historic mansion house listed by Bâtiments de France. Although in the centre of town, the house offers a tranquil space surrounded by vines, countryside and hills. Our secluded walled garden offers half an acre of leafy green space with views over the Dordogne river; the perfect place to unwind by the pool, relax and sip a glass of local wine.

Located in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region between Bergerac and Saint Emilion, Maison M offers the ideal base to explore the beautiful Bastide towns and chateaux of Périgord and the Dordogne.

The main house has three en-suite rooms, another two bedrooms, plus a ground-floor studio apartment. In the gardens, two one-bedroom apartments and a two-bedroom gîte. All rooms can be rented independently or for group bookings: we can accommodate up to 20 guests. The courtyard offers secure private parking for up to seven cars.

Stunning house in perfect location for us as we were looking for property so very well central in location. Slice of heaven behind the Maison doors absolutely gorgeous every detail in this grand old house was perfect the rooms are a breath of fresh air from your standard rooms all very tastefully decorated. The breakfast is more than enough for your day and nothing is too much from Tegan the host would highly recommend.

What a find! A property with a secret garden - the doors open and you drive into a beautiful courtyard hidden from the road. We stayed in one of the apartments which had a fantastic terrace overlooking the gorgeous garden. Our apartment was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable - we loved it. The garden was stunning, even in Breakfast was lovely. Served in a beautiful room in the house. Great variety and beautifully presented.

We rented the 2 bedroom gite for one week. The property has a superb garden with pool where it's great to hang out. The gite itself has 2 big, nice bedrooms with 2 recently renovated bathrooms. The patio of the gite is nice to sit as well. Private parking is provided. St Foy is a good location to explore the region: we've visited Bordeaux, Bergerac, did kayaking and castle visiting nearby. St Foy has many big supermarkets and there's a good bakery right across the street. The nearby country side is gorgeous.

We stayed at Tegan’s place for two nights arriving on bank holiday Monday . The house is stunning and the room spotless. Tegan was super helpful, offering to cook dinner if we weren’t able to go out for dinner. Breakfast was so good and Tegan was happy to book dinner reservations for us if required. Everything was fab!

We had an amazing experience at Tegan’s place. The apartment is beautifully decorated, updated and equipped with everything you need and bed was super comfy. Location couldn’t be better, close to all amenities but quiet. Communication with our host Tegan was quick and easy and she went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. She also has great knowledge of the local area. Couldn’t ask for more ,highly recommend.

We’re on a road trip touring from north to southern France and Tegan’s place is our favourite so far. The rooms are lovely, the garden is beautiful, the house where breakfast was served was stunning. It was such a peaceful place to be and Tegan was absolutely wonderful helping us with restaurant recommendations and bookings, vineyard recommendations and all round being lovely (even giving me an egg to enter my family’s Easter egg decorating contest). Breakfast was fantastic too. Highly recommend booking this amazing place.
